The people and the why.
Subby went up on Google Play in December 2017 with one idea: a subscription tracker that doesn’t need your bank. Eight years on it’s still that — rebuilt from scratch in 2026, arriving on iPhone, still made by the same small Romanian company.
No investors, no data business. The free app is free because ads pay for it; PRO is one payment because we don’t think a subscription manager should be a subscription. Every purchase funds the next feature — and when a PRO member requests a missing logo, we add it for the whole community.
Who makes Subby
Subby is built by Pocket Implementation S.R.L., a small independent studio in Bucharest, Romania. It has been on Google Play since December 2017 and is funded by one-time PRO purchases and ads on the free plan — no investors, no data business.

Milestones
Subby launches on Google Play. Simple list, reminders, no bank login — the idea hasn’t changed since.
The 1.x years: 600+ brand logos, insights, payments log, widgets, backup — and lessons learned the hard way about reminder reliability.
2.0.0 — a full rewrite, one shared codebase, a rebuilt reminder engine, true-black dark mode, and Subby’s first iOS release (in App Store review). The changelog continues from here.
About that Play Store rating
Our lifetime Play average is 3.8★ across nine years — including a period when reminders broke on old versions. 2.0.0 (August 2026) is a full rewrite. We’d rather explain the number than hide it: judge Subby on the 2026 reviews.
