How to cancel Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+)
Apple TV+ is now called Apple TV, and you cancel it where you manage any Apple subscription: Settings, your name, then Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, or tv.apple.com on the web. Two exceptions catch people out. If Amazon or Google Play bills you, only they can cancel it, and inside Apple One you pay for the bundle.

Apple TV+ is now Apple TV
Apple renamed the subscription in October 2025. Its own pages now call it the Apple TV subscription, "formerly Apple TV+", so look for Apple TV in your subscriptions list. The app, the box and the streaming service now share one name, which doesn't make the right button any easier to find.
Who bills you decides where you cancel
| Who bills you | Where the cancel button lives |
|---|---|
| Apple | iPhone or iPad Settings, the App Store on a Mac, the Apple TV app on Windows, or tv.apple.com |
| Apple One | The Apple One plan, in the same Subscriptions list |
| Amazon | Amazon only, in your Prime Video Channels settings |
| Google Play | The Apple TV app on your Android device, or play.google.com |
| A wireless carrier or other provider | That provider |
Apple is blunt about the outside billers: "If you pay for Apple TV through Amazon, you can cancel your subscription only through Amazon." Google Play works the same way. If you can't find the subscription at all, search your email for a receipt from Apple to see which Apple Account pays for it, and check your bank statement for a charge from another company.
How to cancel Apple TV on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Apple TV.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find it.
No Cancel button, or an expiration message in red? It is already cancelled. These are the same steps you use to cancel any subscription on iPhone.
How to cancel Apple TV on the web
- Go to tv.apple.com and choose Sign In if you see it.
- Choose the account icon at the top of the page.
- Choose Settings.
- Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage.
- Choose Cancel Subscription.
If the website won't let you cancel, Apple's help says to do it in Settings on an iPhone or iPad instead.
On a Mac, on Windows and on Android
On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, open your account settings and go to Subscriptions. Choose Apple TV and click Cancel Subscription. On a Windows PC, open the Apple TV app, click your name in the sidebar and choose View My Account. Find Subscriptions under Settings, click Manage, then cancel Apple TV from there.
On Android it depends on the biller. A subscription billed by Apple is cancelled at account.apple.com. One billed by Google Play is cancelled in the Apple TV app on the Android device or at play.google.com, as with any Google Play subscription.
Free trials and Apple One
A free trial has its own deadline. Apple's rule is to cancel "at least 24 hours before the trial ends". Its Media Services terms add that if you cancel a free trial before it ends, "you cannot reactivate the free trial." So cancel once you have decided, not as a way to keep your options open.
Apple One changes where you look. Once Apple One starts billing you, Apple says separate subscriptions to the services inside it are cancelled automatically, iCloud+ aside. Apple TV then arrives as part of the bundle, so the line to find in your subscriptions list is Apple One, and that is the plan you change or cancel.
The mistake that keeps you paying
Hunting through Apple's settings while Amazon is the one charging you. Nothing in Settings touches a subscription Amazon bills, and the charge keeps arriving under Amazon's name. Check your receipts first, cancel with the company that sends them, and note the date your access ends. If you are on a trial, set a reminder two days before it converts, because Apple's 24-hour rule leaves no room for a busy evening.
Trial or paid, write the date down
Put Apple TV in Subby with its renewal or trial end date. The reminder arrives before the charge, and as the date gets close, Home lists it among the next payments. Free to use, with ads, and no account or bank login.
