Give SubTracker its due
SubTracker takes the same position we do on the thing that matters most in this category: it does not want your bank login, and it says so plainly. Its own words are “SubTracker never links to your bank and holds no transaction history.” That is the correct answer, and it is not the industry norm — most trackers with big feature lists get them by reading your transactions.
It also does things a phone app doesn’t. A browser workspace with up to ten members, shared tracking and role-based access is a genuinely different product for a household or a small team, and its knowledge base and cancellation guides are substantial.
Where Subby differs
- Nothing to sign up for. No account means no email address, no password reset, and no list sitting in someone else’s database. Your subscriptions live on your phone.
- The free tier is the full tracker. Add, edit, categorize, pause and archive without limits; reminders, Insights and the payments log are all free. Ads pay for it, and PRO removes them.
- PRO is one payment. Not a plan to remember, not a renewal to diary. Along with removing ads it adds automatic weekly cloud backup to your own Drive, the home-screen widget, service icon requests, and AI screenshot import — where you pick a screenshot, an AI reads the name, price and cycle, and you confirm before it saves.
- Reminders built for the awkward cases. A lead time per subscription from same-day to a week ahead, or any custom lead time, and a reminder that keeps arriving for seven days after an unpaid due date.
- Cycles that match the invoice — weekly through yearly presets plus custom cadences like “every 45 days” — with each next date derived from the previous due date, so a series never drifts.
One payment, one store. Your list travels between iPhone and Android via your own Google Drive backup. The PRO unlock stays with the store you bought it from — buying on Google Play doesn’t unlock PRO on the App Store, or the other way round.
