The iPhone subscription widget: next payments on your Home Screen
Subby's iPhone widget puts your next payments on the Home Screen in small, medium or large. Each widget gets its own theme and filter, and the large one lets you tap a tick to mark a payment paid. The widget comes with PRO.
What the widget shows
Each widget lists your upcoming payments, soonest first: the service mark, the name, the amount and when it is due. The size you pick decides how much fits.
- Small. The next payment on one card: logo, name, amount and due date.
- Medium. The same next payment, laid out wide.
- Large. A list of upcoming payments with a tick on each row, an overdue count in the header when something has slipped past its date, and this month's total pinned to the bottom.
Logos come from the same library of 600+ services the app uses. Anything without a bundled mark gets a letter tile in the subscription's own colour.
Add the Subby widget to your Home Screen
- Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Subby.
- Swipe to the size you want, tap Add Widget, then Done.
Apple's own steps, with pictures, are in Add, edit, and remove widgets on iPhone.
Each widget gets its own theme and filter
Touch and hold a placed widget and choose Edit Widget. Two settings live there:
- Show. All subscriptions, the next five, or a single category you pick from your own list.
- Theme. System, Light or Dark, whatever the phone itself is set to.
Two widgets can do different jobs on one screen: the next five for the week ahead, and a Streaming widget for the category that keeps creeping. On the large size the monthly total follows the filter, so a category widget totals that category.
Mark a payment paid from the widget
On the large widget, tap the tick on a row. Subby records the payment and moves that subscription to its next date without opening the app. The next date comes off the previous due date, so a late tap does not push the schedule out.
It lives on the Home Screen. There is no lock-screen version. To hear about a charge without unlocking your phone, use the reminder notification. You choose its lead time per subscription, and it works the same whether or not you use the widget.
The widget is part of PRO
Tracking is free with ads, and there is no cap on how many subscriptions you add. The widget is one of the things PRO adds, alongside an ad-free app, weekly backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive, screenshot import and icon requests. Without PRO you can still place the widget, and tapping it opens the PRO screen.
PRO is one payment that does not renew. You buy it per store, so a Google Play purchase does not carry over to the App Store. More about Subby on iPhone, from Liquid Glass to backups, is on the Subby for iPhone page.

The free version tracks everything, ads included. The widget needs PRO, and you pay for PRO once.
