Subby vs Bobby

Bobby is an Apple-platforms app — iPhone, Mac and Vision — with one-time in-app unlocks and no Google Play listing, so on Android it isn’t an option at all. Subby has been on Google Play since 2017, tracks everything free with no cap, and sells PRO as one payment.

The short version

Bobby is an Apple-only app with a one-time unlock and a decade of goodwill behind its design. Subby is on Google Play today, is free to use with no cap, and sells PRO as one payment. If you’re looking for Bobby on Android, that’s the whole answer: there isn’t one, and Subby is the closest like-for-like — manual entry, no bank login, reminders before each charge.

Bobby’s real strength

Bobby earned its reputation honestly. It comes from Yummygum, a design studio in Amsterdam, and it has been the answer to “a nice-looking subscription tracker” on iPhone for years. It charges once rather than monthly, which is rarer in this category than it should be. If you already own it, like it, and it holds everything you need, there is no argument here worth switching for.

The two facts that push people to look elsewhere are both on its own store page: it doesn’t exist on Android, and the current release dates from 2025.

What you get on Android with Subby

  • An uncapped free tier. Add every subscription and every category without paying. Ads pay for the free version; PRO removes them.
  • Reminders with a lead time you choose — same-day through five days early, or a custom value — that keep arriving for seven days after an unpaid due date.
  • Real billing cycles. Weekly, biweekly, 4-weekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly presets, plus custom cadences such as “every 45 days”.
  • Insights. Monthly and yearly totals, split by category and by payment method, with a six-month trend and what you’ve saved by pausing things.
  • 600+ built-in service logos and 46 currencies, with exchange rates kept up to date from our server.
  • PRO extras, once: no ads, automatic weekly cloud backup to your own Google Drive (last three kept), a home-screen widget, service icon requests, and AI screenshot import — pick a screenshot, an AI reads back the name, price and cycle, and you confirm before it saves.

Before you rebuild your list. Screenshot every screen of your current tracker while you still have it in front of you, including the next-payment dates. Those dates are the part nobody remembers, and AI screenshot import (PRO) can read them straight back out of the screenshots you just took.

Choose Bobby if…

you’re on iPhone, Mac or Vision, you like the way it looks and works, and it already does what you need. A tool you enjoy opening is a tool you’ll keep updated, and that matters more than any feature row above.

Choose Subby if…

you’re on Android and Bobby simply isn’t an option, you want the full tracker without paying, or you want a list that will follow you to an iPhone later through your own Drive backup. If you’re on iPhone today, the honest note is that Subby’s iOS app is still in App Store review — Bobby is available there now and Subby isn’t.

One payment, one store. Your list roams between iPhone and Android through your own Google Drive backup. The PRO unlock doesn’t: it stays with the store you bought it from, so buying on Google Play doesn’t unlock PRO on the App Store, or the other way round.

Product names above belong to their owners and are used here only to identify the products being compared. Every competitor fact was read off a public listing or the company’s own site on the date shown in its cell, and this page is re-checked quarterly.
